The Position

The Programme Coordinator supports the Netherlands Representative in the execution of the strategy, working with partners to accelerate and scale integrated and inclusive early childhood development and caregiver wellbeing in the Netherlands. This role convenes and supports a diverse network of partners, contractors & activities. They are also responsible for curating and sharing learning from the Netherlands portfolio across the organisation.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Relationship management and representation | Maintain & convene a network of diverse partners. Support the Netherlands Representative in evolving key relationships and represent the Foundation in meetings, forums and other events.
  • Innovative grant making | Collaborate with the Senior Programme Administrator Netherlands to operate agile and appropriate grant making processes for partners and projects. Support the organisation to improve internal processes where relevant.
  • Learning and knowledge management | Regularly convene sensemaking activities with partners to advance the Foundations general understanding of key interest areas and themes. Facilitate sharing of knowledge and experiences internally in the Foundation.
  • Monitoring and evaluation | Organise processes & activities (working closely with consultants) to ensure and improve measurement and evaluation of progress across activities.
  • Reporting | Lead periodical internal reporting activities on NL Portfolio progress.
  • Communication | Work together with the Programme Support & Learning Team and Communication Team to periodically share insights from sensemaking activities more broadly.
  • Events and logistics | Support Representative Netherlands and Senior Programme Administrator in activities that advance the goals of the portfolio, such as organising or participating in workshops, meetings and events, etc.

Qualifications, Skills and Competences

  • Interested in and passionate about early childhood development and caregiver wellbeing
  • Higher education and work experience in the social domain
  • Strong learning mindset with a skill for extracting relevance from large bodies of data and information
  • Familiarity with the work of Dutch government at the local, regional, or national level
  • Extensive experience managing projects and processes
  • Fluent Dutch and English
  • Excellent communicator in speaking and writing
  • Strong social skills and ability to work well across differences
  • Open mindset, ability to think and act laterally and lean into new ways of working
  • Ability to juggle many moving parts, with a skill to prioritise well and negotiate workloads
  • Willingness to travel regularly (inside the Netherlands) and occasionally (internationally)
