This literature review is the first report of the Taub Center Initiative on Early Childhood Development and Inequality. It compares the situation of early childhood education and care services in Israel with other countries in the OECD, covering issues including how much time young children spend in early childhood education and care facilities, indicators of quality, and evidence on benefits to children from low socio-economic backgrounds.
The preschool enrolment rate for children is related to women’s labour force participation rate and the maternity leave policy in each country.
