Young children are the most vulnerable to the effects of poor air quality, which accounts for the death of more than 7 million people each year. Developed by our partner WRI Brasil for the Urban95 programme, this report outlines the harmful effects of air pollution on children’s health, zooms into air quality in early childhood spaces, and presents actions to minimise the effects of air pollution on them.
Monitoring air quality in the environments where children spend most of their time, and developing strategies that minimise the effects of high concentrations of pollutants in these spaces, becomes vital to maintaining children’s development and quality of life.
