This publication is the first part of a two-part series, designed as a guide to provide academic background on why young children should be involved in research, as well as additional guidance on each of the six steps to engaging young children in research.
While there has been a positive increase in emphasis on hearing the voices of children in research over the past two decades, this seems to be less true of young children under the age of eight.
Volume 1 is part of a comprehensive resource developed for academics and practitioner researchers wanting to include the perspectives of young children in their research, produced together with the University of Brighton.
