Proximity of Care Design Guide

This design guide offers a practical online tool to support cost-effective design and implementation of child and family-friendly urban spaces.

Building on the existing Proximity of Care report, we partnered with Arup again to produce a design guide that takes the framework one step further, putting theory into practice. The guide is a practical and free online tool for the design and implementation of cost-effective interventions that facilitate healthy, protective, stimulating and supportive environments for a city’s youngest inhabitants and their families.

Together with Arup, we have combined our design and early years expertise to provide guidance, tools and tailored advice to city authorities, developers, urban practitioners, and early childhood development practitioners to create urban spaces that cater for the needs of children and families, and support and promote healthy caregiving practices and behaviours.
