In a country where more than 90% of the population live in urban environments, 28% of the population are children under 15 years old, and 10% of the population are 0-4 years old, it makes sense for cities to be designed in a way that makes the daily lives of different types of families easier.
Over the years of our Urban95 work, we have seen the importance of developing specific guidelines that can help decision-makers and professionals in Israel seeking to create cities that work for their youngest residents and caregivers. We understood that such guidelines should be a product of a broad collaboration, from government ministries to civil society organisations and academic experts.
